You have it wrong


You have it wrong. The B1G told ESPN when the bidding started that they were going to go to the open market. They did and got paid!

Now the rest of the rights will go back to the open market and this is when the dollars will rise. The conference title game is still out there for an every other year broadcast.

This really puts pressure on ESPN to step up or be left out of nearly 1/3 the US and a significant number of large media markets.

Big opportunity for NBC. I know many people that are hoping NBC lands the rest of the rights so B1G games can be on before and after ND games.
